India’s Punjab state has the district of Malerkotla. It was created on June 2, 2021, following the split of Sangrur district, when Malerkotla district was separated from Sangrur to become the 23rd district of Punjab. Three subdivisions make up the district of Malerkotla: Malerkotla, Amargarh, and Ahmedgarh.
