Alwar is a district in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, with Alwar City serving as the district center. The district has 8,337 km^ under it. Its borders are as follows: the Haryana districts of Rewari and Nuh on the north, Bharatpur and Nuh on the east, Dausa and Jaipur on the south, and Jaipur on the west.

After Jaipur and Jodhpur, it is the third most populated district in Rajasthan (out of 33) as of 2011.
