The district of Jhunjhunu is located in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan. The district headquarters are in the city of Jhunjhunu. Jhunjhunu is a historic town with a district seat of government. It is claimed that in the Vikram era of 1045, the Chouhan dynasty ruled over it. The magnificent Havelis in the neighborhood are well-known for their frescoes. It is renowned for giving the Indian armed services significant participation. The district of Jhunjhunu bears the name of a Jat known as “Jhunjha” or “Jujhar Singh Nehra”. According to the 2011 census, the district has 2,139,658 residents, a population density of 361 people per km2, and an area of 5926 km². The district is located in the Shekhawati area.
