Ambur is a town and municipality in Tamil Nadu, India’s Vellore region, in the recently established Tirupathur district. It is situated between Chennai and Bangalore on the Palar River’s banks. Ambur is well-known for its sweet makkhenpeda and spicy biryani. It also has a sizable leather industry.
