One of the 38 districts (a district in the northwest) of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu is Krishnagiri district. By 2004, this district has been divided from Dharmapuri District. The district office is located in Krishnagiri, a municipal town. The National e-Government Project (NEGP) under the revenue and social welfare departments of Tamil Nadu initially implemented e-Government in the Krishnagiri district as a pilot project.[2][3] Mango production in the district is among India’s highest.[4] There were 1,879,809 people living in the district as of 2011, with 958 females for every 1,000 males. The district’s most populated city is Hosur.
