Nagercoil, which is also spelled Nagarkovil[note] and means “Temple of the Nāgas” or “Nagaraja-Temple,” is a city in Tamil Nadu state, India. It serves as the administrative center of Kanyakumari District. It is located on a rolling terrain between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats, not far from the point of the Indian peninsula.
