The district of Hanamkonda, formerly known as Warangal Urban district, is located in the Telangana state of India. The district office is situated in Hanamakonda. The districts of Jangaon, Karimnagar, Warangal, Bhupalpally, and Siddipet are all bordered by the district.

By dividing the former Warangal district into the Warangal Urban district, the district was created in 2016. The Warangal Urban district was renamed as Hanamkonda district in August 2021.
