Medchal-Malkajgiri district is located in the Indian state of Telangana. Shamirpet is the headquarters of the district. It is Telangana’s second most populated district, with a population of 25 lakh and a 91.40% urbanization rate, trailing only Hyderabad, which has a population of 40 lakh. The district borders Hyderabad, Medak, Sangareddy, Y. Bhuvanagiri, Siddipet, and Rangareddy.The majority of the district consists of Hyderabad City (GHMC).
