Metpally is a town and Revenue Division, and the third largest town in the Jagtial district of Telangana, India. It is located 222 kilometers from the state capital Hyderabad, 67 kilometers from Nizamabad, 80 kilometers from Karimnagar, and 33 kilometers from the district headquarters in Jagtial. It has a rich history with several dynasties ruling, including the Sathavahanas and Kakatiyas. The Kakatiyas built a temple called Chennakesava.
