Uttar Pradesh, a state in Northern India, is best rendered as “Northern Province” in English. Kanpur is the industrial and commercial hub of Uttar Pradesh, while Lucknow serves as the state capital.

The state’s borders are as follows: to the north are Nepal and Uttarakhand; to the northwest are Delhi and Haryana; to the west are Rajasthan; to the southwest are Madhya Pradesh; to the east are Bihar; and to the southeast is Jharkhand.

With 75 districts, the state occupies 2,40,928 square kilometers. As of the 2011 census, the state had approximately 19,98,12,341 residents, making it the most populated state in the nation. Many historical, religious, natural, and man-made tourist attractions may be as well as the Taj Mahal, Varanasi, Kushambi, Kushinagar, Lucknow, Jhansi, Meerut, Allahabad, and Mathura.
