Achhnera, often spelled Achnera, is a town and a municipal board in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district.

Past Events
The origins of Achhnera are the subject of several theories. There are two different accounts of who founded it: Achhnidhar Jats around 1250 AD, and Anangpal Tomar of the Tomara dynasty. King Suraj Mal of Bharatpur handed his son-in-law 23 villages and the jagir of Achhnera in 1738 AD. During Jat domination, Achhnera also functioned as the capital of a pargana.
