Situated in the middle of the Ganga-Yamuna Doab is the district of Ghaziabad. Its length is 75 km, and its width is 37 km. It is somewhat rectangular in shape. It is bordered on the north by the Meerut District, on the south by Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahar, on the south-west by Delhi State, the nation’s capital, and on the east by the Jyotiba Phule Nagar District.

The City is divided into two areas by the River Hindon: the Trans Hindon Area I.E. (THA) and the East of Hindon (Cis Hindon Area I.E., CHA). CHA makes up two thirds of the area. The population of THA makes up one-third of the area and population.
