In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the city of Padrauna serves as the headquarters of the Kushinagar district. It is the location where Rama lived for a few days. Rama arrived at Ramkola after leaving Padrauna, where he built a hut to live in with his younger brother Lakshman and wife Sita. The distance between it and Kushinagar International Airport is 19 km (12 mi) to the northeast. In the Kushinagar district, Udit Narayan Intermediate College is the largest college.
