In the Indian state of Uttarakhand, the municipal board and post-independence city of Gadarpur are located in the Udham Singh Nagar district. When Pakistani immigrants arrived during the 1947 split, this city was created. This is where the refugees made their home and settled. The most of the refugees in the city are Punjabi.
