In the Indian state of West Bengal, the district of Birbhum serves as an administrative division. It is the northernmost district of West Bengal’s five administrative divisions, the Burdwan division. The district office is located at Suri. Sainthia, Rampurhat, and Bolpur are more significant cities. The district’s western boundary is shared by the districts of Bardhaman of Purba Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, and Murshidabad of West Bengal. The districts of Jamtara, Dumka, and Pakur belong to the state of Jharkhand.
