According to the 2021 Nepal census, Kathmandu Metropolitan City had 845,767 residents living in 105,649 households, making it the country’s capital and most populated city. The metropolitan agglomeration of the city is home to almost 4 million people. It is situated at an elevation of 1,400 meters (4,600 feet) in the Kathmandu Valley, a sizable valley in the central high plateaus of Nepal.
