The North Island of New Zealand contains the region known as Taranaki. Its primary geographical feature, the stratovolcano Mount Taranaki, sometimes referred to as Mount Egmont, is the source of its name.
New Plymouth City is the primary hub. Over 65 per cent of Taranaki’s population lives in the New Plymouth District.] North Taranaki includes Waitara, Inglewood, and New Plymouth. The towns of Hāwera, Manaia, Stratford, Eltham, and Ōpunake are located in South Taranaki.
Taranaki has been using the “Like no other” promotional brand since 2005.
