Inland, Hamilton (Māori: Kirikiriroa) is a city in New Zealand’s North Island. It is the most populous city and the seat of the Waikato region, situated on the banks of the Waikato River. At 185,300 people per square mile, it is the fourth most populous city in the nation. Hamilton, which has a geographical area of around 110 km² (42 sq mi), is a component of the larger Hamilton Urban Area, which also includes the surrounding towns of Te Awamutu, Ngāruawāhia, and Cambridge. Hamilton was named the most attractive big city in New Zealand in 2020.[6] Currently regarded as the nation’s fastest-growing metropolis is Hamilton.
