A section of New Zealand on the west coast of the South Island is known as the West Coast. Officially called as Te Tai Poutini, it is controlled by the West Coast Regional Council. It consists of the Westland District, Buller District, and Grey District territorial authority. Hokitika, Westport, and Greymouth are the main towns. The area is the least populous in the nation and is also one of the most isolated. The West Coast of New Zealand is the least populated region, home to only 32,900 inhabitants. Up to July 2022, the region’s population increased by 0.4%.
