Poland’s capital and largest city is Warsaw, often known as the Capital City of Warsaw. Located in east-central Poland, the city is situated on the Vistula River. Warsaw is the seventh most populous city in the European Union, with an official population estimate of 1.86 million people living in a 3.27 million-strong metropolitan region. The metropolitan region is 6,100 km2 (2,355 sq mi), whereas the city area is 517 km2 (200 sq mi) and consists of 18 districts.[8] As the nation’s seat of government and a significant center of culture, politics, and economy, Warsaw is regarded as an alpha global metropolis. It is also capital of the Masovian Voivodeship.
