Ad-Dawhah is one of Qatar’s eight municipalities. At 1,186,023 residents as of 2020, it is the most populated municipality and home to Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Origin
As per the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the Arabic word “dohat” (meaning “roundness”) is the source of the name “Doha.” The area’s circular bays that round the coastline are the source of this name.
