One of South Africa’s nine provinces is Gauteng.

Gauteng is the smallest province in South Africa in terms of land size, and it is located on the Highveld. Despite making up only 1.5% of the nation’s total land area, Gauteng is the most populous province in South Africa. As of mid-year 2022, estimations put the province’s population at 16.1 million, or more than a quarter (26%) of the country’s total population.
