One of South Africa’s nine provinces is Mpumalanga. Literally translated from Nguni, the name means “East” or “The Place Where the Sun Rises”. Mpumalanga is in eastern South Africa, sharing borders with Mozambique and Eswatini. It borders the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal to the south, the Free State to the southwest, the province of Limpopo to the north, and the province of Gauteng to the west. We call Mbombela the capital.
