One of Tanzania’s thirty-one administrative regions, Arusha Region is situated in the northeast of the nation. The main and capital city of the region is Arusha. The Kilimanjaro Region to the east, the Manyara and Singida Regions to the south, the Mara and Simiyu regions to the west, and Kajiado County and Narok County in Kenya to the north all abut the region. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Arusha Region. The region’s size is comparable to Maryland’s total land and water area in the United States.
