The province of Chubut, pronounced with a Welsh accent, is located in southern Argentina and is bordered to the west by the Andes range, to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, and to the south by the 46th parallel south, which borders the province of Santa Cruz. The Chubut River was described as “transparent” by the Tehuelche people, who gave the province its name.
