One of Belarus’s six regions is the Brest Region, sometimes referred to as the Brest Oblast or Brest Voblasts (Belarusian: Брэcцкая вобласць, romanized: Bresckaja voblasć;[a] Russian: Брестская область, romanized: Brestskaya oblast). Brest is its administrative hub. Other significant cities in the area are Pinsk and Baranavichy. Its population is 1,308,569 as of 2024
