The province of Saskatchewan is located in Western Canada. It shares borders with Alberta to the west, the Northwest Territories to the north, Manitoba to the east, Nunavut to the northeast, and the United States (Montana and North Dakota) to the south. Canada’s only landlocked provinces are Saskatchewan and Alberta. The anticipated population of Saskatchewan in 2024 was 1,231,043. Fresh water, largely in the form of rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, makes up over 10% of Saskatchewan’s total area of 651,900 km2 (251,700 sq mi).
