The Kowloon Peninsula and New Kowloon make up the urban area known as Kowloon in Hong Kong. In 2006, the population density of the area was 43,033/km2 (111,450/sq mi), with 2,019,533 living there. It is the smallest, second most populous, and most densely populated of the three regions that make up Hong Kong, together with Hong Kong Island and the New Territories.
