One of Hong Kong’s eighteen districts is Tai Po District. The suburban[2] district includes the following areas: Tai Po Tau, Tai Po Kau, Hong Lok Yuen, Ting Kok, Plover Cove, Lam Tsuen Valley, Tai Mei Tuk, and other surrounding areas; its exclaves include Sai Kung North, which is located in the northern part of the Sai Kung Peninsula and includes islands like Grass Island (Tap Mun) and Ping Chau (Tung Ping Chau). The Tolo Channel and Tolo Harbour (Tai Po Hoi) separate Tai Po proper from Sai Kung North. The Eastern New Territories is where the district is situated.
