In Tai Po District, in the New Territories of Hong Kong, Tai Po New Town, also known as Tai Po Town, is a new town (satellite town) and non-administrative region. The planned town lies to the east of the existing indigenous villages in the Lam Tsuen Valley, to the west of the villages of Ting Kok and Tai Mei Tuk, and to the south of the villages of Nam Hang, Fung Yuen, and Sha Lo Tung. The existing indigenous market towns are Tai Po Hui (literally, Tai Po Market; known as Tai Wo Shi in the 1900s) and Tai Po Kau Hui (Tai Po Old Market).
