India’s Andhra Pradesh state has the city of Kadapa. It is the district headquarters of the YSR Kadapa district and is situated in the Rayalaseema area. The city’s population increased by 2.42% from 2021 to 466,000 as of the India Census of 2022. It is situated 5.0 miles (8 kilometers) south of the Penna River. The Nallamala and Palkonda Hills, which are located on the tectonic plate between the Eastern and Western ghats, encircle the city on three sides. The area is covered in ferrous soils, both red and black. The reason the city is called “Gadapa” (‘threshold’) is that it serves as the entry point to the Tirumala hills from the west.
