Begusarai District is one of the 38 districts that make up the state of Bihar in India. Its administrative center is in the city of Begusarai, which is in the Munger division.

History: Begusarai was a part of Munger District when it was founded in 1870. It was designated as a district in 1972.

Geographical
The district of Begusarai is 1,918 square kilometers (741 square miles) in size.[5] The district is located on the Ganges River’s northern bank. Munger division includes Begusarai district. It is situated at longitudes 85.45E and 86.36E and latitudes 25.15N and 25.45N. Begusarai District is divided from Patna District and Munger District by the Ganges River.
