In the Indian state of Bihar, Kahalgaon (formerly called Colgong during British administration) is a municipality town and one of three subdivisions of the Bhagalpur district. It is close to Vikramashila, which during the Pala dynasty was a renowned center of Buddhist learning recognized worldwide along with Nalanda. The village is around three kilometers away from the Kahalgaon Super Thermal Power Plant (KhSTPP).The Jaunpur Sultanate’s capital (capital-in-exile) was Kahalgaon from 1494 until 1505.[
