In the Mithila region of the Indian state of Bihar, there is an administrative district called Khagaria district. The district office is situated at Khagaria. Previously, it was a subdivision established in 1943–1944 that was a part of Munger District. On May 10, 1981, it was granted district status. Munger Division includes the Khagaria district.
