The village of Matihani is located in the Begusarai district of the Indian state of Bihar, close to the Ganges River.

A new bridge that connects Matihani with Sambho, a town in the Begusarai district, was approved in the fall of 2022.[2] Given the travel benefits for states bordering Nepal and connecting the northern and southern portions of Bihar, the bridge plan was authorized even though construction codes relating to its closeness to existing bridges would have typically denied it.
