One of the thirty-eight districts in the eastern Indian state of Bihar is Munger District. This district’s administrative center is located in the city of Munger. Munger Division includes the district. Its 73.3% literacy rate is less than the 74.04% national rate, but greater than the 63.8% state rate.

Avaneesh Kumar Singh, IAS, is the Munger district magistrate and collector at the moment. The member for the district is Rajeev Rajan Singh Urf Lalan Singh.
