In the Indian state of Bihar, in the East Champaran district, sits the sub-divisional town of Raxaul. It is located next to Birgunj City in Nepal, on the border between India and Nepal. Raxaul is a significant railroad crossing.

Because of its enormous volume of trade, the Indian border town of Raxaul has grown to be one of the busiest places for heavy transit. Through this route, Birgunj exports over 56% of its total output to the Indian state of Bihar.
