Located in the Rohtas district of Bihar state in eastern India, Sasaram, often written Shahsaram, is a historical city and a municipal corporation region.
During Sher Shah Suri’s 16th-century dominion over India, the city functioned as the capital of the Sur dynasty and was the home and secondary capital of the epic monarch Sahastrabahu (Kartivirya Arjuna).
The Ain-I-Akbari describes waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and attractive spots in Sasaram and the Kaimur Range. The rainy season sees the emergence of around 200 waterfalls.
