One of Bihar’s thirty-eight districts is Supaul District in India. The administrative center of the district is located in the town of Supaul. The district covers 2,410 km2 (931 sq mi), having been divided from the former Saharsa district on March 14, 1991.

History: Previously a part of the Saharsa district, Supur is currently a part of the Mithila region. After Indo-Aryans arrived and founded the Mithila Kingdom (also known as the Kingdom of the Videhas), Mithila initially became well-known.[
