In the North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa, there is a small town called Bicholim as well as a municipal council. One of the seven conquests known as the Novas Conquistas (New Conquests), which were added to Goa relatively later than the first three Velhas Conquistas (Old Conquests), is the headquarters of the Concelho (county) of Bicholim. The town is roughly 30 kilometers (19 km) from Panaji, the state capital. It is located in Goa’s mining district.
