India’s Gujarat state has the town and municipality of Dharampur in the Valsad district. Over a hundred villages are connected to the Dharampur (Revenue) office. The local tribal chief was vanquished by Ramsingh of the Sesodia dynasty, the second son of Udaipur’s Ram Raja, and he went on to become the king of Dharampur State in South Gujarat in the thirteenth century.
