The district of Junagadh is located in the Indian state of Gujarat. Junagadh is the city that serves as its administrative center.

Geographical
Situated in western Gujarat, the district is known as the Kathiawar peninsula. The districts of Rajkot (north), Porbandar (north-west), and Amreli (east) around it. The Arabian Sea lies to the west and south.

Before the Porbandar district was divided from the Junagadh district, Porbandar was formerly a part of this district.[Reference required]
