Located in the Hassan district of the state of Karnataka, India, Alur, also spelled Alooru, is a town and the taluk headquarters of Alur Taluk. It is situated 14 km from Hassan City and 2 km away from NH-75. Alur has a railway station called “Alur Halt” on the Mangalore-Hassan line, but no trains stop at this station.
