The capital of the Kodagu district in Karnataka, India, Madikeri is a hill station town located in the Madikeri taluk. “The city of Mudduraja” was the original name of the place, Muddurajanakeri.

It is recognized as a UNSECO World Heritage Site as well as one of the eight “hottest hotspots” of biological diversity in the world.
