In the Kolar district in the Indian state of Karnataka, Malur is both a town and the seat of a taluk. The district center of Kolar is located 30 km away, and Bangalore is roughly 50 km away. Bangalore has both road and rail connections to it. Malur is crossed by the Chennai Central-Bangalore City line, which runs trains to Tirupati, Chennai, Kochi, Trivandrum, Patna, and Calcutta, among other cities in India.
