An administrative district in the Indian state of Karnataka is called Tumakuru district. With a land size of 10,598 km2, it is the third largest district in Karnataka by land area and the fourth largest by population. The distance from Bengaluru, the state capital, is 1.5 hours by car. The district, commonly known as “Kalpataru Nadu,” is well-known for producing coconuts. Since Pavagada Taluk does not physically connect to the other districts in Karnataka, it is the only discontiguous district in the state.
