In the Keralan district of Wayanad, there is a town, taluk, and municipality called Mananthavady.

Within the municipality, St. Thomas Orthodox Church is a parish of the Sultan Bathery Diocse of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.[1]

Meaning and Origin
According to a popular interpretation of its etymology, the word comes from “Maane Eytha Vady,” which translates to “The place where an arrow was shot at the deer.” The existence of a spot on the outskirts of the town named Ambukuthy—literally, “the location where the arrow pierced”—bolsters this theory.
