The district headquarters is located at Chhindwara town. Chhindwara district is one of the larger districts in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Before the Pandhurna district split, Chhindwara, which occupied 10,293 square kilometers, was the biggest district in Madhya Pradesh. The division of Jabalpur includes the district.

The term Chhind, which is the local name for a tree that is frequently found in the district, is the source of the name Chhindwara. District Chhindwara was established on November 1, 1956.[1]

It is located in the Satpura Range’s southwest corner.[1] It is distributed over an area of 11,815 km2 north, with the Betul district on the west and the Seoni district on the east. It is spread between 21.28 to 22.49 degrees North (latitude) and 78.40 to 79.24 degrees East (longitude).
