India’s state of Maharashtra contains the district known as Ratnagiri District. The town of Ratnagiri is home to the district’s administrative headquarters. 11.33% of the district is urban. The district is surrounded by the Raigad district to the north, the Sindhudurg district to the south, the Arabian Sea to the west, and the districts of Satara, Sangli, and Kolhapur to the east. This area is included in Konkan.
