Kiphire District, which is located in the Indian state of Nagaland, is part of the Sangtam Nagas. It was created in 2004 when Tuensang and Longleng districts were split off to become separate districts. Kiphire District is 230 kilometers from Kohima, the state capital. With a total area of 1,130 square kilometers (440 square miles), as of 2011, it is the tenth most populous district in Nagaland.
